Montreux Volley Masters

9 - 14 June: The fabulous resort setting of Montreux in Switzerland provides the backdrop for one of the longest running FIVB sanctioned events in Women’s Volleyball. The 2009 edition of the Montreux Volley Masters will mark the 22th time this prestigious tournament has been staged.
Paritsipating teams are China, Italy, Brazil, Poland, Japan, Netherlands, Germany and Cuba.

 
Throwers dominate 55th Kusocinski Memorial

Warsaw, Poland – The throwing events dominated the 55th edition of the Kusocinski Memorial which was held on Sunday (7) in a new venue the Orze? Warszawa (Warsaw Eagle) stadium. The meeting took place two weeks earlier than its usual spot in the calendar which typically has marked  the anniversaries of 1932 Olympic 10,000m champion Janusz Kusocinski’s World 3000m record  (19 June 1932) and his tragic execution in 1940 (21 June).

IEC represent Manchester United Asian Tour Television Rights

Stockholm; Manchester United Football Club has exclusively appointed the international sports television agency, IEC in Sports, to distribute the broadcast media rights for their upcoming Asian Tour games on a worldwide basis, excluding UK and Ireland.

Glasgow ,UK - Artisitic gymnastics: Beth Tweddle took two Gold’s to follow her double European championship Success on Bars and Floor. Louis Smith and Daniel Keatings continued the Pommel domination finishing in Gold and Bronze places, Becky Downie produced a great routine to claim Bars Silver and Kristian Thomas took Floor Silver to complete the medal haul. Other stars of the competition were Brazil's Diego Hypolito with Gold on Vault and Floor and routine of the day must go to Epke Zonderland (NED) who closed the competition with an awe inspiring High Bar display.

HSBC Asian Five Nations gets television boost

Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) today announced a number of enhancements in the television broadcast for the 2009 HSBC Asian Five Nations, the tournament which involves Asia’s top five rugby teams; Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Kazakhstan and Singapore, and kicks off on Saturday April 25th.

Olga Kapranova - most successfully at World Cup

The Russian's dominated the World Cup of Rhythmic Gymnastics held in Maribor, Slovenia. After the the top position in all-around fourth placed at the Olympic final, Olga KAPRANOVA (RUS), won three of four apparatus finals. She made one mistake with the hoop and Ljubov CHARKASHYNA used the oppertunity and won that final. Altogether 28 gymnasts representing 12 different nations took part art this world cup.
 
FINA Diving World Series 2009 concludes in Mexico

The last day of the fourth and last leg of the 2009 FINA Diving World Series (April 24-25) took place in Mexico City (MEX) and China once again dominated the operations, with three wins out of the four titles on offer. At the end of the four events of the circuit – Qatar (Doha), China (Changzhou), Great Britain (Sheffield) and Mexico (Mexico City) – the Chinese delegation conquered 30 gold medals out of 32 at stake. The conclusion of the series in the Mexican capital was also auspicious for the Latin American divers, with Cuba’s Jose Guerra Oliva and Mexico’s Rommel Pacheco and Yahel Castillo also climbing to the podium.
