MICHAEL OWEN marked his Manchester United debut with a late winner in their first match of their Asian Tour, in Kuala Lumpur. Tosic was up ended going for a 50-50 challenge, there was Owen to pounce on the loose ball and drag the Red Devils to victory, in front of 85,000 fans in Bukit Jalil Stadium. Wayne Rooney scored the first and set up Nani for the second and it appeared United would saunter home. However Malaysia’s Mohammed Amri Yahyah, spotted Edwin Van der Sar off his line and with an audacious 20 yard lob, over his outstretched arms, halved the deficit. Van der Sar's replacement Ben Foster was to blame for the equalizer as Amri latched on a poor clearance to equalize 8 minutes after the break. Michael Owens’ first goal in the Red Devils shirt, saved blushes all around as United keep their 100% record in Malaysia. IEC is exclusively appointed by Manchester United Football Club to distribute the worldwide television coverage (excluding UK and Ireland) as well as television production coordination and transmission for all four (4) matches of the Asian Tour. |
