Great Britain's Jennifer Meadows, who won a World Championships 800m bronze medal last summer, set a national record of 1:59.11 which was also the second fastest time in the world this year. The men's 800m race was won by Poland's Marcin Lewandowski in 1:47.50. Ireland's David Gillick equalled his own national 400m record of 45.52, set at the same venue three years ago, the 2005 and 2007 European Athletics Indoor Championships gold medallist clocking the second fastest time in the world this year over two laps of an indoor track.Russia's reigning world champion Yaroslav Rybakov won the men's High Jump, the only competitor to go clear at 2.31m, which he did on his third attempt.
