IEC in Sports, the established Swedish-based Television Distribution Agency, has been re-appointed to handle the international broadcast rights of the prestigious Portuguese Football League - Liga Sagres - for two more seasons: 2010/11 and 2011/12.

The continuation of the partnership comes following IEC's successful previous campaigns with the Portuguese Football League over the last 6 years, where IEC have managed a large number of distribution agreements throughout the world.

IEC, part of Lagardère Sports, has successfully maintained and developed the reach of the Liga Sagres over its tenure as rights holder. The interest and viewership continues to expand into new territories such as Australia and New Zealand, and IEC with immediate effect start marketing the rights for the coming seasons.

As one of Europe's major leagues, the Portuguese League offers broadcasters the chance to access a large number of matches each week, showcasing many of the world's leading footballers and assured through a high level of Host Broadcasting by one of Europe's leading sports broadcasters in Sport TV Portugal. Also, a vast majority of matches will be produced in HD, which will open up many doors for stations keen to access more material in HD.

A large number of packages are available from IEC including:

* A minimum of approx 5-6 matches per round available, usually comprising the following evening/prime-time matches:
- 1 x Friday match at 20.15 GMT
- 1 x Saturday match at 17.00, 19.15 and 21.15 GMT
- 1 x Sunday match at 18.00 and 20.15 GMT
- 1 x Monday match at 20.15 GMT

* Weekly highlights available via satellite at the end of each round of matches

* Highlights magazine, PortuGol, covering all goals and action from each round of the League.
