Back to back titles for Saina, Sari-Yao Lei in the BWF Super Series
Tuesday, 22 June 2010 08:07

India’s Saina Nehwal and Singapore’s women's doubles pair of Shinta Mulia Sari and Yao Lei shared a common trait on Sunday at the Indoor Stadium in Singapore – both have won back to back titles.

After capturing the India Open women’s singles title and women’s doubles title last week, both Saina and Shinta-Yao Lei set the Indoor Stadium alight with another confident display to capture their second title in as many weeks.

While Saina showed no mercy against 16-year-old Tai Tzu Yin of Chinese Taipei, Shinta-Yao Lei gave the home crowd plenty to cheer when they beat South Korea's Lee Hyo Jung-Kim Min Jung 21-17, 22-20 in the final of the US$200,000 Li Ning Singapore Open.

This was also Singapore’s first ever title in the Super Series event – comprising 12 tournaments with a minimum of USD200,000 total prize money for each tournament.
